So today I replaced a windshield on a 2016 Subaru Outback. Here's the story behind this one. So, this custome requested a quote from me about a month ago then finally decided to cash in, cool. So, the price back then was already set at $300. Me knowing that parts and prices fluctuate I confirmed the appointment. Without even checking to see if the supplier had it in stock. So I get back to my office because I'm usually out and about most of the day. So I'm at my company on my main supplier's site and the windshield was $127.57, one remaining in stock. So I added to the shopping cart, immediately the price shot to $255.54.

Awwe hells naw, I immediately jumped on the phone with my second and last supplier. Thank you for calling ??????? This is Trevar. How can I help? He stated, ey Trevar this is SwabiDabi with Perfect Touch Auto Glass do you have a FW3920GBY available. He was like sorry we don't nor do we have it at our Chesapeake location. I’m like daaaaamn, daaamn, daaamn, cool thanks Trevar. We hung up. I’m was like damn $255 plus the molding and cal clip. I’m looking at a $32 profit. Damn I'm hit on this one.


Shiiit, I’m thinking of calling the customer to tell them the parts are not available for about a week. Least till a crate of glass shows up and the price drops. But my customer needed the windshield replaced and inspected the following day. Awwe, I gotta do it. Its the principle and ill get it back later in the future plus I banged for $300 extra yesterday. So we call it even steven.

Google been tripping and billing me on random days every month and the got me twice in May. They billed me twice in 1 month for Google Ads. Unnecessary hit, but i’m good. Had to take a moment and re cap the past to make sure I didn’t unset the powers that be. Cause I’m taking loses, chin shots, over hand rights.


Best thing to do right now is relieve some stress, so I jumped on the bench press in my office for 3 sets of 225lbs and butterfly curls. Wrote a blog, did some accounting and readied work orders for the following day. Bout 2:45pm my phone rang and it was Trevar from my second supplier. Hey Swabi, its Trevar from ????? you still need FW3920 we just got a whole crate of them going for $117. Eew hell yeah, I replied. Give me that asap! Talk about good things that happen when you wait it out. I was so relieved to know I can make a profit from the job.

 You're not. it's that simple. 8 out 10 windshield replacements is installed with some type of aftermarket glass. Because, auto glass companies have to make a profit. Remember you want affordable service, excellent services and the best product. Lol, You will never get the best product for an affordable price, lol, NEVA! So, as a customer who wants the best product, a strong reliable windshield that can take a hit or 10. How can I know? Simple do your research and ask questions. Do you offer OEM parts and all auto glass companies will tell you yes! Lets go deeper, ask them do they offer acoustic interlayer windshield.  There's an extra layer of sound resistance within the windshield. the windshield is thicker, heavier then aftermarket. It cost more than the aftermarket  non acoustic interlayer windshield. Non acoustic interlayer windshield lacks the sound resistance interlayer and cost much less.
